TidyUp Numbers
Getting to Green: TidyUp Challenge
TidyUp is a new tool in Canvas to help faculty improve their Ally – Accessibility Scores by removing old/unused inaccessible files. While reviewing your Files in Canvas, it is hard to know if the files are used on Pages, Assignments, Discussions, Quizzes or other locations. TidyUp will show you exactly which files are not used or used and where they are used. Not only can TidyUp make your courses more accessible quickly, it can help you organize your courses and save course space.
Note: Please view the information on the TidyUp page about Downloading files to your computer, creating a Quiz with all Question Banks, and changing names of file before you delete any files, folders or content.
Green Challenge
Remove all inaccessible unused files form your Canvas courses.
“Getting to Green” Challenge The “Getting to Green” challenge provides guidance and motivation to improve Ally Accessibility Scores in Canvas courses. Courses that have Accessibility Scores above 66% are marked with a light green Ally dial, while those below 66% are marked with an orange and red dial. Each quarter the CTLT will introduce a new challenge that will be another effective way to get your courses to green as an achievable milestone toward making your courses more accessible. |
The new Canvas plugin, TidyUp identifies course files that are currently unused and thus candidates for downloading and removal, which can improve Ally Accessibility Scores. It is important to read the TidyUp webpage first before deleting any files. To learn more about Ally, please see our webpages.
