Request a Canvas Sandbox Shell
Each instructor is provided one Sandbox/Test shell. The course is located in the "Sandbox" sub-account. This is a great location for you to test and learn Canvas.
A Sandbox shell is a great space to work on your semester course redesign. If you feel like you need additional Sandbox shells (not for credit/graded courses), then you can request another via this form.
If you need students to participate in a course shell, please request a Miscellaneous shell. Sandbox shells are not for students, but for development, learning the tools, or testing out new features.
If you are looking for a Canvas course shell for non-Cal Poly Students, use the free space.
Requests can take up to 48 hours (M-F: 8-5) before you will receive an email confirmation.
ALERT: Deadline for Course Content Accessibility is April 24, 2026All digital course materials must be fully accessible to all students by April 24, 2026, to comply with Title II of the ADA.
